blog 31

I think this is it.  I think this is the last blog.  I have nothing else to say.

blog 30

The biggest issue with this, is that I can't even have an ego trip or anything from it.  That would be cool.  But no, I have to talk about photoshop. The good news is that I can make a picture of me look a lot hotter now.

blog29

Thankfully there are only two more of these left.  I can't stand blogging.  It's no fun.  We should have made another video or something.  Or a photoshop project.  Just kidding, I like blogging.

blog 28

What does blog even stand for?  Seriously, I have no idea.  I could look it up, but I think the internet might be evil.  It's a fad, you know.  In about 10 years no one will even care about the internet.  Fact.

blog 27

This blog will be over soon and will never be updated again.
Hooray!  Congratulations me.

blog 26

Thankfully, there's not a lot to do anymore now that the semester is over, but I still feel incredibly strange sitting around.  It's like I should be doing something, but I'm not.  Like a bizarre instinct.

blog

My final semester is just around the corner.  Thank goodness.  It's been a long way, but it's been fun and a worthwhile experience (for the most part.)  I have eaten way too much Subway.

blog 24

I haven't got much to say.  So far I've A's in all my classes.  That's a plus.  Except math, but I wasn't really expecting much there.  Anyway, hopefully these blogs are in on time to get me an A in IMED.

blog 23

The best thing about IMED was that it was fun.  This is a rarity in the academic world.  Really, there was nothing better than getting to IMED after math and just being able to do something fun.  Even if it had it's frustrating moments, it was fun.

blog 22

I think my website turned out pretty great.  I don't think it would be a wise business venture (petsmart beat me to the punch) but I think it was a very nice website nonetheless.  However, I would have liked to learn more coding skills.  The good news- I'm taking computer programming next year, so we'll see if I like programming at all.

blog 21

I'd have to say the most valuable thing I learned this semester would be to manage my time better.  While the website project, videos, and photoshop are certainly valuable tools, they taught me something much deeper than just technical skills.  I wasted a lot of time in class when I could have been working, which only created a greater level of stress for me.  If I could stop doing this, my school life would be much easier.

blog 20

I probably should have kept better track of these blogs throughout the semester. Oh well, my mistake I guess. It's something I made the choice to put on the backburner to other classes even though it only takes a few minutes.  I should prioritize improving my time management.

Website project

Can't lie, I'm pretty psyched about my website. It's called fish are friends.com.  That has to be the best name for anything ever.  It will, obviously, sell fish tank products and the friendship that will inevitably follow is sort of a buy one get one situation.  Also, my website is beautiful on so many levels.

Website

The website project comes at a great time.  For Capstone, we need to find a way to communicate our ideas.  What better way than a website?  It's fantastic.  Hopefully I will be able to master it quickly.

Blogs

Recently we have been learning about html.  Apparently it's not code.  It's a mark up language.  Eventually, we will begin work on a website of our own, which sounds like a lot of fun.  I think I will make mine about my senior capstone project.

10/24

Too much work these last few weeks.  My IMED peer pressure project isn't that great.  It's basically just me doing awkward things for eight minutes.  I don't like it very much, but I guess it will have to do for the time being because the option is failure.  It's a sad day.

Week of 9/17

I think my silent video project went over well.  I am not sure but I would like to think that I had the 8th best project in my class.  Unfortunately, I am still not very skilled at premiere and there is another big video project due next.  Wish me luck.

Week of 9/10

The silent video project was incredibly frustrating, yet fun.  At first, I thought I would try to take a comedic approach to adding sound to the film, but for some reason that just didn't feel right.  Of course, after trying for several classes to add realistic sound, I had a small breakdown.  I had the worst time trying to perfectly time each glass breaking sound with the glass actually breaking on screen.  Instead, I decided to combine music and sound effects in my video side by side.  Hopefully it doesn't stink.

Week of 9/3

I can't stand the sound of glass breaking. This is quite a problem since the minds behind The Seashell and the Clergyman decided that breaking glass was not only artistic, but was something that ought to be done over and over again as if it might not be noticed the first ten times.  Thankfully, I have finished putting the glass sounds into my video and have moved on to footsteps.  As luck would have it, footsteps are worse than glass breaking.  Now, I think I will try and make an artistic move of my own and put a song behind the video. You know, something classy.

8/31

Today was a good day.  I learned that all of my video making talent will be used to add sound to a silent movie.  While the artist inside of me believes this to be a sin, I think it could be a little bit fun.  Especially with all the interesting people in our class.  Anyway, I am so glad to learn how to make videos and things, because it turns out that I will be helping out with Student Government's senior memories project (I don't want to use the word yearbook, but it's basically a year book.) Hopefully I can be a little more useful now.

8/27

Premiere is a pretty impressive program.  Of course, the only thing I have to compare it to is Windows Movie Maker, which isn't saying much.  I am pretty excited to get to work on videos, though.  I've made a few for projects and they were always missing something when it came to editing.  I believe the term is polish?  Anyway, that's what was always missing.  Polish, or maybe pizazz.  One or the other.  Hopefully Premiere can change this.

8/24

August term is over.  It's unbelievable, really.  Last year the two weeks dragged on for what seemed like forever, but this year everything is so different.  It seems that time is flying.  When I looked through the pictures we took for our projects, part of me wanted to cry.  I know it's a little pathetic, but I've never felt like I would miss school before, but putting together our postcard and movie poster made me realize something.  The things I took pictures of were some of the things I would miss most.  IMED is going to be a blessing this semester, not only for the knowledge I'll gain, but because I'll be able to make some more memories with the people I value most. Err, I mean, I like putting my face on other people's bodies and stuff.

8/23 (Day 9)

Today we photoshopped ourselves into movie posters.  Supposedly, the movie that you pick reflects some deeper aspect of yourself.  If this is the case, then I am a pregnant teenaged girl.  Hope my friends don't pick up on that and decide to start the verbal abuse.  Anyways, today was a lot of fun and I did learn some stuff about layers and that I look awful in pretty much every picture I take.

Day 8

I think that all media should feature flames and/or explosions in some way.  There is simply nothing cooler than fire.  Oxymorons aside, I think that teaching me how to put fire animations on things was probably not a good idea.  I will be putting it on everything.  Carebears, pictures of Mother Theresa and Gilbert Gottfried riding on the back of My Little Pony... nothing is safe now.

Day 7

Things are getting difficult at this point. Not too difficult, but pretty difficult. Thankfully there are lots of uses for the program so it's worth the struggle. Or, at least, it's probably best to not waste my time drawing pictures of Jean Claude Van Damme pushing me on a swing set instead of putting a shadow around stuff.

Day 6

Steve Jobs did not found Pixar.  He funded Pixar.  Just a little note.  Today we learned to animate things.  Of course, the first thing I tried to do was to animate a guy falling off of a building and hitting the sidewalk, but I completely failed at it.  Either way, it was worth a shot and I will work towards being able to destroy little stick people until I am an expert at it.

Day Five

I tried making a collage of my favorite comic strip characters today.  Unfortunately, I did something very wrong at some point in time and was ultimately unable to get it to look like I wanted too.  So, after a good two hours and fifteen minutes (but who's counting?) of trying to finish my masterpiece, I decided to reboot my computer.  This proved a very poor decision. The school computer erased the pictures I had used and the rest of the project as well.  Frustrated, I decided to instead make a picture of the sample picture penguins frolicking in the sample tulips.

Day 4

Class is getting more difficult and suddenly I actually have things to do in the evenings.  I need to find the app for this or I will continue to miss posts.  Anyways, we have to make a collage of facebook photos, of which I have very few.  Thankfully, we can use other things, so I guess I'll use adorable puppies for my pictures.  Should be fun.

Day Three

Flowers have to be the greatest thing to ever either evolve or be created.  It doesn't realy matter which, and it's silly to argue about the matter anyhow.  All that matters is that flowers are beautiful. No, they deserve a word better than beautiful, but there just isn't one willing to rise to the occassion.  Thankfully, there are two words that happen to have been willing to embrace the essence of flowers today; My first and last name.  That's right, today I created my name in flowers with Photoshop, and I do believe I will be putting that version of it on everything from now on.

Day 2

Today was ridiculously entertaining.  Probably more entertaining than it should have been, but I'm a sucker for any chance to color something. Photoshop is really a remarkable program.  There was a girl I knew who was always showing me random pictures she had made using it.  It was incredibly annoying. However, it turns out that Photoshop is a pretty useful tool.  I guess I owe her an apology.

Day One

Today my professor had a motorcycle helmet.  Naturally, I asked him if he rode a motorcycle.  He replied that he did not ride a motorcycle and did, in fact, ride a scooter.  Thankfully, he was cool about it and the rest of the class worked out alright. I actually had to embrace all sorts of new web tools and services today, which I have never used before.  Hopefully it will all go smoothly this semester and I won't look like a complete idiot using all this technology stuff.
